Missions and Service
As followers of Jesus Christ, we take our commission to make disciples seriously. That commission begins with the brothers and sisters who are part of Messiah Baptist Church, who meet with us regularly, and who share our lives the closest.
However, our responsibility to make disciples does not end with us! Instead, we understand that we are ambassadors for Jesus Christ to the world. We represent Christ to our neighbors, co-workers, fellow students, and others that God brings into our lives. Furthermore, we seek to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our city, state, nation, and to the world.
Around our city and state, we serve people in various ways. Some of these are planned while others are spontaneous. In everything that we do, we seek to give honor to Jesus Christ. We work in government assisted housing projects, nursing homes, and neighborhoods around our area.
Also, many of the people of Messiah Baptist Church have taken the Gospel to the nations. We have been to the Congo, South Africa, Ethiopia, Nicaragua, Indonesia, Italy, France, and other countries.
One of the benefits of our structure (or lack of structure) is that we are able to (individually and corporately) devote our money to serving people and proclaiming the gospel.
